Gilchrist Farm Family Memorial Day Camp Out and Barbecue 2024!
Sunday-may 26th 2pm - monday - may 27th noon
A chance for the whole family to enjoy a camp out (in your own tent) at the Gilchrist Farm and enjoy all of the activities of Summer Camp! Ride horses, milk goats, make candles, gather eggs, pet cows, feed pigs, sleep under the stars and wake up with the roosters!
Appropriate for all ages. Adult must accompany child for the duration of the event. Farm fresh food will be prepared and served onsite! Full barbecue Sunday night, Farm Fresh Breakfast Monday Morning. Gather the breakfast eggs! Milk the goats! We will provide all of the food, drinks, plenty of water, snacks, etc. You provide your tent and sleeping bag, bring along your flashlight, sunscreen, hats, closed toe shoes, long pants for horseback riding, and toiletries. We have a well lit flush toilet onsite (accessible easily) along with portable toilets. There are plenty of hand washing facilities, but no showers.

2:30PM-5:30PM Summer Camp Rotation
Horseback riding, grooming and safety! Geared for first time through advanced riders! Great for the whole family! Pony rides for the youngest riders!
Petting zoo and Farm Animal Fun! Meet the goats, sheep, peacocks, geese, ducks, tortoise, cows, pigs, and more! Pet, brush, and learn all about the animals.
Farm Arts & Crafts! Decorate real horse shoes, learn how to stamp leather, make a pioneer doll or candle!
Archery! Axe Throwing!
5:30-6:30 SET UP CAMP! We’ll have scouts here to help you pick your site and pitch your tent!
6:30 PM Special Camp Out Dinner (Dutch Oven Camp Fire Special!) Farm fresh food, prepared onsite.
7:30 PM Goat Milking! And… more time with the animals.
8PM Camp Fire Program and Star Gazing (with our Telescope!). Learn our camp songs, make s’mores, enjoy skits!
9:30PM Lights out!

11:30AM -Noon BREAK DOWN CAMP. We’ll have helpers available to help you break down your tents and pack up your gear!
Pricing: First Adult $120, Additional Adult (same family) $75, First youth ages 5-14 $100, Additional youth (same family) $65, Preschooler 3-5 $40, 2 and under are free. Add each “type” of camper to your cart and then check out once you have completed your group. You can return and add additional campers later by type if your group expands, just note the “primary adult” in each group. Looking forward to an awesome event!!!
